Have we raised interest rates too much? Here's the thing... increasing interest rates has been a tactic to manage inflation. But we are calculating inflation inclusive of mortgage payments and rent. Once we remove those housing costs from the inflation numbers... we are at our benchmark inflation target of 2%. The Bank of Canada is aware of this.
